This feels like a prompt we’ve done a few times, maybe just repackaged in a slightly different way. I’ll use this as a get out of jail for free card and just play a song.
INXS was a great 80’s band. Don’t Change was released in 1982. When this song came on, I always tended to increase the volume just a little bit higher.
Resolution of happiness
I’ve always liked when this line was belted out in the song. Maybe it’s the way they draw each syllable out separately. I find myself singing this line out loud, syllable by syllable. Resolution of happiness – what a cool line.
Lead Singer Michael Hutchence and keyboard player Andrew Farriss created this song in 1982 . . . The song has a defiant feel, with Hutchence warding off negativity. Farriss offered this explanation: “Everything Changes, or does it? Nothing lasts forever and yet most of us at some point in our lives want it to.”

God I loved this band, when I was a kid I had the hugest crush on this girl across the street who was like 3 years older than me and her room was full of INXS posters. I use to sing this song to her and she would giggle and say “you’re cute”, but I wasn’t trying to be cute, I was trying so hard to be romantic. Years later we reconnected and today she’s my wife and we danced to this song at our wedding and I play this song for our two baby girls. Music bounds us all together, makes us cry, makes us love, rock… don’t change.

I'm standing here on the ground
The sky above won't fall down
See no evil in all direction
Resolution of happiness
Things have been dark
For too long
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
I found a love I had lost
It was gone for too long
Hear no evil in all directions
Execution of bitterness
Message received loud and clear
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
I'm standing here on the ground
The sky above won't fall down
See no evil in all directions
Resolution of happiness
Things have been dark for too long
Don't change for you
Don't change a thing for me
I do love seeing bands in their youth with all that enthusiasm and energy! As per usual, song is new to me. But what fun!

Yeah, this one definitely felt repackaged or recycled today. Maybe the wordpress overlords were taking the day off

Wow. That YouTube quote bowled me over! What a story.
And yeah, that prompt looks pretty familiar. I honestly don’t follow them but I think they’ve slipped one or two like that in during the relatively short time I’ve been following your blog.
Thanks for introducing me to another great song! I never really followed INXS, but was aware of most of their radio-play songs. They look so young and totally ’80s in the video.

I agree. You can’t beat 80s music. There’s nothing like it.
