I’ve gotten better at carving a whole rotisserie chicken. The first few times I butchered it pretty badly, but eventually sought help from YouTube. I always try to save the wishbone so we can pull it and make a wish. That’s the closest I’ve come to a broken bone. Knock on wood.
I felt small pangs of jealousy when my brother broke his foot. Everybody signed his cast and he got to use crutches every day. When you’re ten years old, those are considered fun. Nowadays, forget about it.
AC/DC released Givin the Dog a Bone in 1980. I was 12 years old and didn’t know any better. I assumed this was a song about a dog and a bone. What do the kids say these days? SMH? Looking at the lyrics today, yeah, I was pretty far off. Not even close. What’s a 12 year old listening to that kind of music anyway? But I still say Back in Black is one of my favorite albums of all time.

She take you down easy
Going down to her knees
Going down to the devil
Down, down to ninety degrees
Ah, she blowing me crazy
'Till my ammunition is dry
Ah, she's using her head again
She's using her head
Ah, she's using her head again
I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
Yeah, I'm givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
Oh, she's no Mona Lisa
No, she's no Playboy star
But she'd send you to Heaven
Then explode you to Mars
Oh, she's using her head again (using her head again)
She's using her head (using her head again)
Ah, she's using her head again (using her head)
I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
Givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
I'm jus' givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
She got the power of union
Yeah, she only hits when it's hot
And if she likes what you're doing
Yeah, she'll give you the lot
Give it everything, I'm just
Givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
Givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
Givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
Givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone (Givin' the dog a bone)
I'm just a-givin' the dog, givin' the dog, givin' the dog'
Uhh, I'm just a-givin' the dog a bone, ahhh, no
Be glad you never broke a foot. I’ve broken a foot bone in one leg and my ankle in the other one.
That’s certainly a graphic song. I never thought about the lyrics when I listened to it as a kid either.

Ouch… both sound painful, especially the ankle. I grew up playing basketball and spraining my ankles were painful enough. I can’t imagine breaking one.
Yeah, I used to just sing the chorus as a kid. I had no clue

I heard that spraining hurts worse than breaking as long as the break is clean.

Glad to hear you’ve never broken a bone. I’ve never had a cavity, but I have broken my wrist.
I had a similar experience, singing suggestive lyrics around the house as a kid…much to my religious mother’s horror!

As I gasp at the lyrics, lol. I remember bringing home a chicago album and listening, singing along joyfully to “you get it up” with no idea what that meant. my mom about had a heart attack when she heard us sweet little angels singing that song.

I’ve never really followed AC/DC but do enjoy some of their songs when I hear them. They have a few real classics. The lyrics are amusingly un-subtle, but it all seems to work for their vibe.

The only cd I have is Back in Black. They had some other songs I like, but not enough to invest in another cd when I was younger. Yeah, not unsubtle at all!

I used to have ‘If You Want Blood’ on vinyl but I think it somehow made its way to my son’s collection!
