My Gen X Playlist: Perfect – Pink

  1. About the self help thing, the first time I wrote about finally, in my 40’s, pushing my ego way way down and reading a self help book, I didn’t want to call it that. So
I asked google what another name for self help was and yeah it gave me “personal growth” I think. Not that it should matter but to me sounded better.

  2. Pink is fucking awesome! I love the explanation of how she wrote it as a sort of declaration of unconditional love to her unborn child – and then everyone connected with it and she became “everyone’s mom” Great post. Thank you!

  3. Maybe I am one of the few, but I love reading “personal growth” books. I love to get other people’s perspective on growing as a person. I also love browsing book stores. There is something comforting about it.

  4. Being mentally interesting, I’ve always perused the self-help sections. It’s fun to see what’s new in the area of being not quite normal.

  5. Great song, love her. The backstory is great, of course. It’s indeed a smart choice by Barnes & Noble to rename the section, cause I would just stand next to it and look over. hahaha

  6. Going to a bookstore can feel like a therapy session, especially if the store includes a coffee shop. I appreciate the term “Personal Growth” because it emphasizes the need for self-improvement and understanding in life.
I like the song. Pink is amazing!
