If I could ask for the impossible gift, I’d ask for time. Since it’s impossible to deposit time into my lifespan bank account, I’ll gladly settle for warm wishes and good karma. You have to give good karma in order to receive it, though. Isn’t that the rule? So I’ll be spreading plenty of good karma in 2024.

The New Radicals released You Get What You Give in 1998. I completely forgot about this song. I saw the title and the name of the band and still couldn’t place it. I looked it up on YouTube and immediately smiled.

This uplifting ’90s hit became an anthem for young dreamers ready to take on the world with music on their side. The title is kind of a mantra: you’ll get back in life what you give to others.
