My Gen X Playlist: Just Breathe – Pearl Jam

  1. You always pick the best songs.
It’s true, a little space to breathe is a nice goal. I can relate. I’m staying with a good friend who has a regular meditation practice. Every day she puts on her white noise ap and sets a timer. I have joined when I’ve been with her at the designated time. It’s lovely! Making time every day to breathe is brilliant. She times it so she can get a few things done before, with enough time
after to get ready for her day. I love being included in this ritual. Your post is very timely for me, I want a dull moment!
(I personally loved the turn around time of snail mail as well!) There really is less and less time to breathe these days, sigh…

    1. Your meditation practice sounds wonderful. Making this a daily ritual is a brilliant idea. A fellow blogger suggested a white noise app the other day. I’ve been experimenting with a few and have recently started breathing exercises. I’ve thrown out the idea that I can always power through things and now appreciate the value in self care. It sounds like you are already well versed in this area. For me, better late than never!

  2. One of my favorite pearl jam videos is ‘Do the Evolution’. Now when I think of them, that’s kind of like where my mind heads to.

Also it’s hard to imagine things getting quicker until they figure out a way to just broadcast thoughts into peoples brains.

  3. I miss slower communication. My older brother used to stutter. When the phone rang, he would practice saying Hello as he walked to the phone. By the time he answered, his hello sounded normal. I think I could use extra time when communicating to plan what I want to say.
