  1. We are indeed in a similar boat these days, friend. Like you, I have found it to mostly be a blessing.
I am not the world’s biggest Dylan fan, but I do happen to like this song, and Duran Duran to boot, so I am in your camp on this one. 👍

      1. That’s a nice way to put it. I tend to like his music more when others perform it 😄

I have before, but I lost my way for a spell. It’s good to be back on the path.

  2. It’s so smart to put your health first. By the way, have you noticed the resurgence in “yacht rock”? I wonder if that’s related to the increasingly stressful news we’re always getting.

    1. Yacht rock… I had no idea what this was until I just looked it up. Interesting. I think you are right about the news. The tension here and abroad is probably at all time highs. I can’t imagine it getting any worse, but I don’t want to jinx it

  3. Whoa! I never knew Duran Duran covered this song! Thanks for introducing their version to me.

This song, mind you the Dylan version as Duran Duran were still kids back then, reminds me of trips to the beach with my oldest brother and his girlfriend. It would often play on the radio as we drove home in the waning sunlight.

I like things about both versions… it’s a cool interpretation.

And I’m glad to know your break is having so many positive results for you. Hopefully in a few years you can join me in making not working a permanent lifestyle! As you’ve seen, there’s plenty to fill the time. Heck, I can’t even keep up with blogs!

    1. I like how music triggers certain memories. Beach trips, long roads home, sundown. There has to be a poem somewhere in there. Thanks for sharing your nostalgia.

Yes, I’m looking forward to retirement some day!

      1. I really like that, too.

And it’s you should say that; I actually did write something about it, though it was for the former sister-in-law’s memorial service about five years ago. Life is short, thank goodness for memories.
