The WordPress gods have asked this questions a few different ways. Here are my past responses.
Rocky Mountain High – John Denver
Jump Around – House of Pain
Instead of being repetitious, I think I’ll just pick a good song instead.
When I was in junior high school, Foreigner released Urgent. My friend and I loved this song and used to play it over and over. Back then, CD players were not invented yet and it wasn’t as easy to skip back to the beginning of a song to listen again. We either had to move the record player needle back to the beginning of the song or rewind the cassette tape. This was a pain. So we came up with the perfect idea.
First, we tape recorded the song on a cassette tape and pushed pause just before the song ended. We then moved the record needle back to the beginning of the song, timed the beat and took it off pause. We did this over and over until we had a 90 minute (nearly) seamless version of the song that we only had to press play once.
Did we get tired of the repetition of the song? Nope. Sorry WordPress. I can bob my head to 90 minutes of Urgent, but I get a little irritated when you give me the same prompt for the third time. Sometimes life’s not fair.

You're not shy, you get around
You wanna fly, don't want your feet on the ground
You stay up, you won't come down
You wanna live, you wanna move to the sound
Got fire in your veins
Burning hot but you don't feel the pain
Your desire is insane
You can't stop until you do it again
But sometimes I wonder as I look in your eyes
Maybe you're thinking of some other guy
But I know, yes I know, how to treat you right
That's why you call me in the middle of the night
You say it's urgent
So urgent, so oh-oh urgent
Just wait and see
How urgent my love can be
It's urgent
You play tricks on my mind
You're everywhere, but you're so hard to find
You're not warm or sentimental
You're so extreme, you can be so temperamental
But I'm not looking for a love that'll last
I know what I need, and I need it fast
Yeah, there's one thing in common that we both share
That's a need for each other anytime, anywhere
It gets so urgent
So urgent
You know it's urgent
I wanna tell you it's the same for me
So oh-oh urgent
Just you wait and see
How urgent our love can be
It's urgent
You say it's urgent
Make it fast, make it urgent
Do it quick, do it urgent
Gotta rush, make it urgent
Want it quick
Urgent, urgent, emergency
Urgent, urgent, emergency
Urgent (urgent), urgent (urgent), emergency
Urgent (urgent), urgent (urgent), emergency
So urgent, emergency
It's urgent
Oh, wow! I love this song!!! It brings back so many memories. Growing up, we weren’t allowed to listen to this type of music, but my older brothers didn’t care about the house rules. They would lock themselves in their rooms and blast this music night and day. So, you could say that I grew up listening to great music through the walls.
Also, I share your frustration with the repetition of the daily prompts!

That’s a great story – listening through the walls!

Haha! I just saw this video clip pop up after I watched the Urgent video. If you love Jack Black, as I do, you will love this!

I do like Jack Black. The video didn’t come through, but I looked him up in YouTube. Was it the sax solo? That was too funny!

To this GenX, I’d like to remind of my new book in the works: Meet Me in Bisbee. A bubbly GenX turns a private eye. ETA Dec.24

I was probably about the same age when Foreigner’s first album came out. It was one of the first albums I bought for myself. Neat trick with the cassette tape. The needle replacement thing was a hassle.

This was one of my first albums also

My friend and I did similar. We played this on repeat on the record player, and we now marvel at how our parents let us listen to this song! The lyrics are quite “adult” and we were just little kids. I guess they assumed we wouldn’t have any idea what the lyrics were about, and they were right.

That’s true. Maybe they just chalked it up to rock and roll

One of my favourite Foreigner songs! Cassette Who would imagine that we’d have Spotify years later? Lol!

Love Foreigner! I have to admit that it was pretty genius of you and your friends to do that just so you could have the song on repeat…bravo!

Way to put the prompt on its ear!
Foreigner is a great band, some very good songs. “I Want to Know What Love Is” is fantastic and the video is wonderfully done.

That’s a great one, too! There needs to be someone to oversee the prompts!

And my wife thinks I listen to the same song too many times in a row!
