  1. I love Keanu Reeves! He seems like such a real person who genuinely helps people and hasn’t let fame go to his head. I heard that he still rides the subway and lives a simple life.
I agree that it’s good to ponder death and make peace with it. We shouldn’t waste the time we have left worrying about something we cannot control.

    1. Yeah, sorry about that. I read the article and it reminded me of the Colbert clip and my thoughts of mortality. I like how Keanu describes it as “young old”. That helps change my thoughts, at least for now. And the song surprisingly seemed to fit.

  2. I was 51 when I first thought much about my mortality. It hit me all at once and I started tracking how many days old I was. For some reason (because I could?) I’d break those numbers into their prime number constituents, noting when a day-old number was a single prime. A geeks way of coping, perhaps.

    1. It sounds like a good distraction. And it makes sense. Math makes logical sense. Solving numerical problems have a definitive answer. Mortality is miles away from logic. It seems a little bit of the unknown, out of our hands. Just my take…

  3. I’m weird in that I was aware of my mortality at a very young age — like before I was a teenager. So it’s odd to me when people become aware of it so late in life — for me. ^_^ But I feel ya. It’s a tough thing to face. I turn 58 this year and the thing I’m becoming aware of is how many stars are around my age. Ha!

  4. My dad’s death has had me thinking about mortality a lot more.

Everyone we love will die someday, and yet, we just don’t talk about it enough. Thank you for sharing this. ❤️

(I love Keanu Reeves. Such a good guy)

  5. I’m not scared of death itself, but I am afraid of losing everyone I love before I die. It might sound weird, but I always pray that I go before my kids and before anyone I love. I have a hard time dealing with the thought of mourning my loved ones.

  6. Keanu of all people would understand grief as he had gone through so much in his life. I think about death but it’s all around me since I work in healthcare and have experienced it personally as well. We’re not going to leave this world alive…with that being said, I want to make the most of it.
