My Gen X Playlist: Only a Lad – Oingo Boingo

  1. I am in my glory right now watching my hometown. Tigers have their best season since 2012.

If I had to choose a “walk up song” I would probably go with cult of personality by Living Colour. Even though I’ve always liked the song, I must admit that there is a little bit of CM Punk and professional wrestling rubbing off on me with that one.

    1. I never thought about that. It does have a devo vibe. It pretty cool that Danny Elfman transitioned his career to movie scores after Oingo Boingo. Such a big change from his new wave roots! Interesting enough, he also wrote the simpson’s theme

  2. Don’t be shocked if the Angels end up being sneaky good this year, even with Trout fading. And the best dog is the one you get to eat outside at a baseball game. Doesn’t matter where or what it’s called.

  3. I am not a big baseball fan. But, when I worked at the library, we had an award presentation called the “Mesquies.” It was modeled after the “Dundees” from The Office. My boss asked what my walk-up song would be if I won. I said, “Say it Like you Mean it” by Switchfoot. I didn’t win the first year, but the second year I won “Best Above and Beyonder.” 🙏
