My Gen X Playlist: Would I Lie to You – Eurythmics

I drove up to Los Angeles to be in the office this past week. With traffic, it took me an hour and forty five minutes. Surprisingly, it didn’t seem long, I was listening to a podcast and they were discussing vaccines. I never intended to write a second vaccine post, but here we are.

The podcast included an interview with a physician and I learned that all children may still be at risk, even if they are receiving vaccines. You see, there are some diseases that require multiple shots over time before the immunization is complete. I naively assumed one shot would do the trick. Why in the world would I think that, I couldn’t tell you. This throws a monkey wrench into my thinking about an autonomous decision. Even families who are following science are still at risk. That doesn’t seem fair. This is crazy.

I saw snippets of RFK JR in front of congress. Seriously, you have to be kidding me. What a dip shit. He’s putting people’s health at risk and causing a huge brain drain in our country. How does he not see it? And not to be petty, but that voice grates on me. I just want him to shut up.

I heard a pundit call RFK someone’s crazy old uncle. It would be semi-amusing if the stakes weren’t so high. It’s difficult to listen to the lies he spews and the my disdain exponentially grows with the sound of his voice. So today’s song is the Eurythmics Would I Lie to You. Although this song is about a failed relationship and not the growing national health crisis, these line came to mind.

  1. I know that in Florida, they just said that students no longer required to have vaccines in order to go to public schools.

    They think that this will be great…until kids start dying of the measles and the mumps and other illnesses that have all been eradicated for the last 60 years

    But what more can you expect from the state that gave us Florida Man?

      1. Oh any time man, I figured you’d dig that. Such a cool jazzy/punk song. Henry Rollins started his career as one of the singers from the punk band Black Flag..to go from the high energy of a song like “Rise Above” to this weird jazz punk hybrid is otherworldly. It helps when you dig a hell of a lot of genres. Ya ever hear Butt Trumpet ?

      2. The beginning threw me. I liked the drastic turn. I had no idea that guy was from Black Flag. Boy, that’s really dating us. Butt Trumpet? No, but based on the name alone, I’m gonna check them out.

  6. It’s a mess! Texas country people refuse vaccines. Now the measles is spreading everywhere. Now Florida ends vaccine mandates, which is a whole other issue. This government experiment is not going to end well.
