I was grocery shopping at Trader Joe’s on Sunday morning. As I was checking out, I saw masked men with cameras outside the entrance and in the parking lot. The masks immediately made me think of ICE. I asked the checkout girl who these guys were. Apparently, they call themselves First Amendment Auditors.
First Amendment auditors have recently targeted numerous Trader Joe’s locations, particularly in Southern California to film customers and staff, aiming to provoke reactions for online content.

Seriously?
The best course of action was to ignore them and resist the urge to be provoked. All they want to do is get video of an altercation to upload onto YouTube to garner views. The checkout girl once saw them chase an elderly woman to her car. My god. What a bunch of assholes. In what world is this acceptable behavior. Apparently, mine.
I refuse to let a bunch of bullies taint my view of the world. So here is What a Wonderful World, covered by the Ramones. An edgier version of this song seemed appropriate after witnessing these shenanigans. Enjoy.

I see trees of green
Red roses too
I see them bloom
For me and you
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
I see skies of blue
And clouds of white
The bright blessed day
The dark sacred night
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
The colors of the rainbow
So pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces
Of people going by
I see friends shaking hands
Saying, "How do you do?"
They're really saying
"I love you"
I hear babies cry
I watch them grow
They'll learn much more
Than I'll never know
And I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Yes, I think to myself
What a wonderful world
Oh yeah
Assholes! This type of thing makes me think the social fabric is frayed beyond repair.
Great song choice. I never heard this version. Definitely more appropriate for these times than sweeter renditions.

Love this version. I’ve asked for it at my funeral
