  1. Thanks for thinking of me! Gotta admit, though, that I’m not keen on participating in this chain-mail-letter type thang. Do I need to in order to keep in your good graces? I’ll certainly read your recommendations, if that counts.

    1. I’m sorry – I should have left the above comment on my own blog. It’s too late to detract it, so I’ll say that it really is an honor that you read, enjoy, and, above all, recommend my blog? Thank you!

  2. Congratulations on your well-deserved nomination, and thank you very much for nominating me! I am honoured you thought of my site, and appreciate the back-and-forth we share about music and the stories we attach to it. And I enjoy your humorous as well as your touching storytelling.

  3. That last answer is so funny, because I think I’d make a similar calculation, probably having something really spicy, since I have to tame that craving lately! I remember watching a show where they asked chefs this question and most of them said roasted chicken, mostly for nostalgic reasons.

I always love reading your Japan posts.

  4. Thank you so much for nominating me! I’ve been taking a blog break, so I hope you don’t think I was ignoring your message. I hope to be back soon and answer these questions. 💜

  5. GenXer, these were such great answers! Thanks for bringing such a good sport and letting WP peeps know a bit more about the Dude Behind the Playlist 😎😉

I can understand your reluctance to leave Cali, it’s easily of the top states I’ve ever visited with respect to the natural beauty. In one day you can go from walking along the beach to cruising through the desert to chugging though towering, snowy mountain passes. The people I’ve met there were all very chill and the pacific waves make the east coast’s look kinda anemic unless there’s a front or something.

Lost Wages with the guys and in your 20s… haaahaha all I can picture is “The Hangover,” and the guy with the knocked-out tooth. There’s another funny one about LV “Lost in America”… Albert Brooks is hilarious.

The others really resonate… the simple joy of a cup of coffee, bullies…the fear of Alzheimer’s. My friend is going through that, early onset, it really is tough. And your fav post…wow my friend, that was heavy. Very sobering, very honest and raw, and a great song selection. I hope you’re able to let yourself off the hook… we all have things locked away in a box in the closet that whisper our names sometimes while the world sleeps. Forgiving yourself is so hard, I get it. It’s not easy, it takes time…but when we realize there’s nothing that God won’t forgive, who are we told hang onto something long since wiped off the celestial white board of screw ups 😉

Thx again for playing, really interesting to get this peek behind the curtain of one of my fav bloggers. Enjoy your CA weekend! 😎🏄🏻‍♂️☀️

    1. Hey, man. So kind. I appreciate the thoughtful comments. I enjoyed the process. Thanks for the nomination creating great prompts to write about. Your questions had a little bit of everything that took me in a number of different directions.

If you asked me when I first started this blog if I’d continue longer than a year, I’d probably would have said no way. I’ve come to enjoy writing – it’s creative, therapeutic and fun. But the biggest surprise was joining the blogging community. I’ve enjoyed that even more. Thanks for taking time to drop by and giving a read or two. And thanks for sharing your creative talent. I always take something away when I read your post.
