My Gen X Playlist: Romeo and Juliet – The Killers

  1. Sometimes chicks have good taste, and light stories can be good medicine. 🙂 I remember watching this film and enjoying it, but also putting it into a certain category of ‘not profound’. Yet a film like this is sort of an imagination prompt, letting us imagine making these kinds of shifts. Eat Pray Love, How Stella Got Her Groove Back (I think? At least the title suggests) fall into a category of time given to the soul and appreciation and even luxuriating, blending with life’s magic. We should all have such times!

      1. Yes, exactly. I do think that book was far more meaningful somehow, even though the film followed the story well.

  2. Tuscany is definitely someplace I’d love to visit.

I’m normally all over anything the Killers do, but felt Brandon was a little flat on this one. Maybe he’d just finished reading the book, LOL.

  3. Under the Tuscan Sun is one of my favorite movies. I’ve seen it soooo many times and love it! And Romeo and Juliet is a great song. Indigo Girls covered it, too! I like their acoustic version 🙂

  4. I love Under the Tuscan Sun movie! The story is too good to be true. However, it has some broader meaning and some quotes shared with so much emotional thoughts. I think I’m going to watch it again. Thank you for sharing!

  5. Wow! A gentleman admitting to liking a romcom, that’s a new one!
My husband would only admit such a thing in the privacy of our own home 🤣
We have a road/train trip of Italy on our future itinerary so I’m pleased you had a good time in Tuscany. It’s a country full of surprises in the form of quaint old villages, authentic food offerings and friendly people.
Although some of the major cities will no doubt be on our visit list it’s the more out of the way places I’m looking forward to 😊
