My Gen X Playlist: Three Little Birds – Bob Marley

  1. Oh yes, played the Legend album all the time during my university days. Funny thing: I re-discovered the same album many years later. When my daughter was born, the first few weeks were extremely difficult. Colics, crying & no sleep. Out of desperation and because nothing else would work, one night I put on music – and Bob Marley calmed the screaming baby 😊 BTW, although the reviews were mixed, I did like the One Love movie.

    1. Haha. It was more fun making it than the end product. We made red ale. We emptied Newcastle beers because we liked the clever bottles to use (cleaned of course). I brought a batch to a party not telling them it was home brew. A lot of confused faces at first. Plus, if you put it up to the light, you could see remnants floating in there. But I do remember us all opening our first beer to celebrate the batch. It was a good cheers and a great memory.

  2. Very much a “happy song” and the album -Legend is exactly that, a real classic.
I’ve seen the movie “One Love” but watching “Get Up , Stand Up” -the Bob Marley musical at the Lyric Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue in London for my birthday a couple of years ago was a real standout moment !
