  1. OMG, I had totally forgotten about the Bermuda Triangle! My parents took us to Bermuda on vacation and we were terrified flying over it. Years later, I went there by ship and it was not a concern. It’s like everyone just got over it. Good one!

  2. Yea, why don’t we hear about it anymore? I feel like I grew up hearing about a lot more supernatural, unexplained stuff than I do now. Of course, my mom was a professional psychic, so that had a lot to do with it. But still. There used to be this tabloid at the checkout that had all the stuff in it like aliens and bigfoot. I loved to get it when I was a kid. Was it The National Enquirer? I just remember it was black and white back then and it had a lot of wild advertisements in the back. One of the advertisements that always caught my eye was something about joining a vampire religion. It said, “Vampires exist! Join us!” There was something kind of exciting about stuff like that back then.

    1. Yes! I remember the tabloid at the checkout! I was just at the grocery store yesterday and don’t recall seeing one. I do like the Bigfoot stories, though. Usually a guy dressed up in a hairy suit. Strangely, I still believe…at least in the possibility

  3. Yes! I always loved seeing TV shows and movies about the Bermuda Triangle. So mysterious! You’re right, we don’t hear much about it anymore. That reminds me of a funny meme I saw the other day that said, “Growing up, I always thought quicksand was going to be a much bigger problem than it turned out to be.”
This song is the quintessential song of the 80’s for me! The moment I hear it, I am transported back to high school with my acid washed jeans, big permed hair and baggy sweaters. I had never heard the Frente! version before. I like it. Nice post.

  4. When I was a kid I devoured books and stories about the Bermuda Triangle. And as a teenager, I was all about trying to figure it out. Then I was all: “Eh, whatever, I’ve got bigger stuff to worry about.” Heh

  5. One of my professors went to Bermuda last month. I joked and I asked him to bring me some pink sand from there if he makes it safely back to NC.
And yes, he is back, safe, and he gave me a magnet with pink sand from Bermuda. 😂

  6. It’s so funny you mention the Bermuda Triangle. A friend and I were talking about it the other day and how it just seemed to have disappeared! Then we got on the subject of sink holes, which scare me to death to even think about!
