      1. Today, I had oatmeal with watermelon. It was ok! 😅 but I added slices of a banana to make it taste better.
I also tried a watermelon oatmeal smoothie, and it was good. here’s the recipe:

▢ 3 cups cubed seedless watermelon
        ▢ 1 cup frozen strawberries
▢ ½ cup vanilla Greek yogurt
▢ ½ cup almond milk (or other milk of choice)

Add the watermelon, strawberries, yogurt, and milk to a high powered blender, and blend until smooth.
        Bonne appétit. 😊

  1. i will have to try the fresh oranges. i love oatmeal (even plain!), but my favorite is blueberries, walnuts, and honey. sometimes, i’ll do blueberries and coconut. but now i’m thinking i’ll try fresh oranges and coconut tomorrow morning.

also a fan of the movie “breakfast at tiffany’s” … and remember the song too!

  2. I’ve also been eating oatmeal regularly and walking. Great for heart health! I like to put apples, almonds, bananas and cinnamon in mine. Something else my doctor told me to add is a spoonful of slippery elm bark powder. I know, sounds disgusting but it gives the oatmeal a nutty flavor and is good for digestion.

  3. That picture up top there looks just like my breakfast. Blueberries and oats every morning. I’m a creature of habit. But sometimes I like to mix it up. Sometimes I have pumpkin with almondmilk yogurt, sugar free syrup, sweetener, vanilla extract and a little pumpkin spice. The pureed pumpkin is kind of pricey compared to oats though, so ultimately I always go back to oats.

  4. Hey, the connection still works… it’s all breakfast! Have you tried a shake of cinnamon on your oats? They’re my almost-daily brekker, too. And a few chopped walnuts on top of the banana. Plus I cook them in a little oat milk. Delicious.

Great song and post, thank you for sharing!

  5. I very much recommend a Mediterranean breakfast and taking ‘walking’ to the next level like power walk or jog. Think, olives (black or green), Feta cheese, fresh slices of crusty bread and (ok I’ll skip tomatoes, (cuz most of my friends go ugh!) if you really must crave for meat, go for spicy salami slices… Cheers

  6. I think the song “I see fire” by Ed Sheeran is the song of the moment now. I feel the mood of the current state of the world is like that of the movie “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug”. The movie ends with a cliffhanger, just like how the future is still waiting to be manifested in our current reality.

  7. I love Breakfast At Tiffany’s, it’s a song oh so reminiscent for my husband and I. I was raised to be very Type A, and he was raised to be more Type B. I was sure that we weren’t alike but he just had to introduce me to a whole new way of living, then we found our happy, My parents hated him at first, they thought he was lazy and good for nothing, but over time he proved himself. They loved him in the end and they took him in like a part of the family.

Oatmeal sounds good, but I don’t know if I could before my morning swims, I think I would feel bloated. That being said, I did just find a recipe for healthy oatmeal flapjacks and weight loss is something that I am trying to achieve. You had me sold at “thirty pound weight loss” – congrats!

  8. Oatmeal is my favorite, it’s super filling and stays with you for a long time. It also maintains a more balanced sugar control so that I’m not crashing by 10am. I like to add different things to doctor it up and keep it healthy with applesauce, flax, olive oil, cranberries, cinnamon, etc.
