  1. “Where the wild things are” is one of my old-time favorite children’s books! Not so much for the story, but because the illustrations are just out of this world!

I took a children’s lit class in college, and it is stunning to learn how much subtext is going on: not just with the illustrations, but even with the actual wording the authors choose

  2. This daily writing prompt made me stop and think. I know the book you are talking about but back in my childhood living quite a quiet existence with my parents and sister there wasn’t a focus on children’s reading books pre school. My first memory, therefore, definitely has to be Enid Blyton, probably The Magic Faraway Tree. I recently went to watch it at the cinema with my daughter.

      1. When I was at primary school we used to have an annual presentation assembly and I always managed to win a book each year (not always for the same achievement). I kept all my books and when my daughter was growing up she read them, always placing them back on the bookshelf when complete.
This was one of those books. Charlotte’s Web was her absolute favourite but this came a close second so it was definitely a reflection moment together in the cinema 😊
