  1. Smoking is bad! Maybe it was in the past a sign of wealth, prestige, and power (based to some old Hollywood movies.) it’s not that fancy anymore…it’s disgusting.
    Keep walking.

  2. My son and I were walking the dog when we noticed a coyote across the way. I hadn’t realized before, but all of a sudden our dachshund seemed very small. We immediately walked slowly but also swiftly away. Scary!

  3. I used to regularly get my 10,000 steps in each day but now I tends to exercise at the pool and gym as my knees tend to start screaming “No” when I walk too far these days.
The coyote story reminded me of being in the USA back in 2023 when we drove the Eastern Seaboard. We visited Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge en route through Florida. When we visited the information centre to acquire more information the guy was explaining the best route to drive and where to stop, get out, walk around and take photos (my husband is a photography enthusiast) and he was suddenly talking about venomous snakes and alligators! The conversation went something like this
    “Sorry”.
” They are more scared of you Mam then you are of them”
” We come from a country where nothing can kill you except another human being and even that is rare”
” Honestly you’ll be fine Mam”

I considered myself incredibly brave getting out of the car and actually doing some of the walks after this 😊

    1. Such a funny story! Someone once told me the same thing. The bears are more frightened than we are. I had to disagree, because bears frightened me! Don’t get me started with venomous snakes and alligators…. Glad you braved the wild and had a good time!

      1. On the same trip we stayed on the outskirts of Charleston overlooking a beautiful but fairly small lake. There were signs up everywhere “Beware of Alligators” . One afternoon I looked out and the family downstairs were having a picnic right next to the lake with their young children.
“Are they mad” I thought, ” Have they seen the signage” .
I came to the conclusion that when you live amongst wild animals it somewhat becomes the norm?
